A Bit About Me
I was born and raised in the Pacific Northwest, right here in Kirkland. I have always had a love for caring for other people and started babysitting around the neighborhood when I was 12. Helping others is something I have felt drawn to since I can remember. I love helping out--helping people feel supported.
I went away to school in Chico, California, chasing the sun. After trying out a degree in Environnmental Science, I switched to something closer to my heart, Child Development. I returned to Seattle after graduating and nannied there until deciding to be a live-in au pair in Australia. The family that I worked with there had a baby while I lived with them, so I have the experience of living with a newborn, although I don't have any children of my own.
Following the Outback adventure, I nannied in the Kirkland area again for about five years. I started thinking about doing more for our community. I love working for one family at a time but felt that my skills and services could be utilized for more than one household. While leading a Program for Early Parent Support (PEPS) group in February 2020 (this is a group setting for new sets of parents to talk about topics of parenthood), I could see what new parents in my community were looking for in terms of help and support. At this time, the pandemic happened and my plans for a career change were put on hold until 2022. After two long years, I felt it was time to pursue my dream of becoming a postpartum doula. Here we are today! I'm here to help you with the heavy lifting (mentally/physically/chores) so that YOU can focus on the things that are a priority to you as you welcome a new member into your family.
When I'm not supporting a family, you can find me cooking with my mum, showing my dog new places, working on my fitness (Peloton addict here), singing with my keyboard, spending quality time with my friends (usually eating), working on my scrapbook, organizing my house, exploring, dancing like no one is watching, or bothering my partner. I'm a 'glass is half full' kinda gal & I believe everyone is beautiful and do my best to help them feel as they are too, inside and out. I love to be a hype woman and I've never met a dumpling I didn't like. Life is too short not to embrace your own weird and I like to model that for the people I meet.
